Though they are nice, you don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars at a spa or thousands of dollars on a vacation to get some peace and calm.
There are hundreds of things you can do on your own, relatively inexpensively, that will give you a similar effect.
Here, in no particular order, are 13 of my favorites.
1. Listen to calming music. The calming piano music here: https://youtu.be/rLMHGjoxJdQ
2. Dress in calming colors. Light blue, lavender, or pale green work great. Think newborn baby colors.
3. Sit in nature. Even five minutes among trees can make an incredible difference in your mental and physical state.
4. Meditate. You can sign up for my free Jumpstart Your Day meditation here as a start. If you don’t have 15 minutes to devote to meditation, you can practice mindfulness by being “the observer” in your environment.
5. Remove excess stimuli, such as clutter, from your environment. A good rule of thumb is if you don’t use it or love it, consider getting rid of it.
6. Sit by a stream or quiet body of water. Research proves the calming benefits of being near water.
7. Take a warm bath with sea salt. The water will help out you at ease, and the salt will help you detox from any negativity or lower energies.
8. Use essential oils. Lavender, rose oil, and chamomile are great for bringing about feelings of calm and ease.
9. Use empowering affirmations. “I am confident!”, “I can handle this!”, and “I feel better and better all the time!” are a great place to start.
10. Journal about your feelings. Grab a piece of paper and a pen and write down whatever comes to mind. The purpose here is to unload your mind. Once you’re done with this, you might try answering the question, “What am I anxious about?” or “What is a simple way I can calm myself down?”
11. Cozy up with a soft, gentle blanket in a big chair or on your bed. There’s nothing like a soothing texture to help you feel calm and relaxed!
12. Use gemstones such as snowflake obsidian, rose quartz, or blue lace agate to calm, nurture and soothe yourself.
13. Try a calming meditation. There are plenty available on the internet, or you can check out my new Calming Lavender Light Meditation here to help heal and guide you. Use code SALE20 for 20% off this product until October 15.
