A Magical Affirmation for Growth

Have you ever heard the phrase, “growing pains”?

If you were alive in the 80s, you may remember the TV show by that name. It was a sitcom following the lives of the affluent Seaver family – two working parents and their 3  children, Carol, Mike and Ben. Although the show was a sitcom, one of the main characters often ended up in some kind of turmoil from a growth situation.

Although real life isn’t a sitcom, many of us can relate to the growth experienced by the different members of the Seaver family. This is one of the things that made the show relatable, because it dealt with issues many of us have faced.

Many of us can also relate to the pain that often accompanies the growth process. Whether it’s having our heart broken for the first time, learning something “the hard way”, or realizing we made a mistake, opportunities for growth are around us all the time.

Do we avoid them out of fear of the pain that growth sometimes brings?

If you recognize doing this in the past, ask yourself this:

What if growing didn’t have to involve pain?

What if we could choose to look at it another way?

Is it possible to teach ourselves to welcome this pain or look at it in a totally different light instead?

I believe it is.

And I believe it can be done through mirrorwork and affirmations. Mirrowork and affirmations are incredibly powerful; check out this post for more.

How do you start if you’ve never done them before?

It’s easy; use today’s magical affirmation several times during your day or any time you’re going through the growth process. The act of reading the words and saying them out loud will begin challenging and then changing your beliefs.

How do you look at growth experiences?

Could you use this magical affirmation to view them in a different light?

When I’m grateful for my own expansion, pain doesn’t come into the equation. Again, the focus belongs on gratitude. 🙂
