Your Daily Lift: Rejection

Have you ever felt rejected?

It’s not a good state to be in. It feels terrible!

If you’ve ever “put yourself out there”, stepped outside your comfort zone or done any type of sales, you probably know firsthand what “rejection” feels like.

For me, the easiest way to avoid rejection is to change my thinking about it. To come at it from a totally different perspective. What do I mean? First, consider if there was no such thing as rejection. For example, if I’m selling something, instead of thinking the person is “rejecting” me or my products or services, I imagine that there is no such thing as rejection. Because there really isn’t unless I tell myself that’s what happening. I can never know the whole story of why someone does or doesn’t buy something. If I don’t buy something from someone, it doesn’t mean I don’t like the person. There is usually some other reason for it. Maybe I don’t need it, or it isn’t the right time for it. But it is hardly ever about me. Unless I make it so.

Today, I make a promise not to take rejection, or anything else, personally – because when I do, it only hurts me. I love myself too much for that.
