Why You Need to Honor Your Crystals

Honoring your crystals isn’t just a cool thing to do; it’s caring and respectful, too. Consider, for example, the person who takes the time to honor their crystals as opposed to the opne who doesn’t.

It shows that you aren’t just a “taker”, but, instead, you value balance in relationships, too.
While I’m not saying your crystals have the power to punish you or withhold their energies, I do believe you’ll get more out of the relationship when it’s balanced.

Sure, you could just toss them around, or lock them away; but is that really what they deserve?

Considering the amount of love, support, and harmony I receive from them, it’s the least I can do, right?

Considering my beautiful rose quartz crystal, which helped to heal my heart; and the chunks of pyrite which assist me in manifesting great things; and the labradorite stone which blocks and shields me from negative energy, my crystals have more than proven their worth to me. It’s the reason I buy more, and it’s the reason I continue surrounding myself with their amazing, soothing, and powerful energies.

But, what, exactly, does it mean to honor your crystals?
And how do you do it?

You’ll find the answer to both of those questions in this post – plus the cute little ditty I love singing to my crystals – below.

So, if you ready to learn how you can honor your crystals for all the good they do for you, let’s jump in!

3 Powerful Reasons to Honor Your Crystals

Benefit #1: It puts you in a high vibe. The practice of honoring anything, whether crystals, nature or something else, requires the energy of gratitude.
And gratitude, my friends, puts you into a very high vibration.
Benefit #2: It’s an act of care. Although it may sound hokie, your relationship with your crystals – like anything else – is a living, breathing thing. And, like anything else, this relationship needs respect, nurturing, and reciprocity. Similar to how you (hopefully) balance the giving and receiving in your relationships, it makes sense to do the same with your crystals. Show them love and respect and watch as they show it back to you.
Benefit #3: It spotlights the positive. When you truly honor something, you recognize the positive impact it’s had on you. And although you may not be purposely “looking for the positive”, you’ll inherently find it when you feel honor and respect for what it has given to you.

Here’s How to Honor Your Crystals

Just as there are hundreds of ways to load a dishwasher, there are dozens of ways to honor your crystals, too. The key is to find something that works and feels good for you. To help you get started, here are a few ideas:

1. Create a Thank You Pot.

One of my favorite ways to honor my crystals is to put them in clear glass jars around my house. I do this because I love having crystals around my house and it also gives my crystals a break. My favorite jar has the phrase, “THANK YOU” on it (it was a Bath and Body Works candle which I used, cleaned and washed out.) I also have and love using empty candle pots that say “BLESSED” and “LOVE YOU” on them. Additionally, I have picked up some candles from the Dollar Tree a few times in the past year which say, “Brow Chakra”, “Heart Chakra”, and “Crown Chakra” which I love filling with crystals that correspond to those chakras.

2. Create a Thank You Jar.

Don’t have an empty candle pot or don’t want to deal with cleaning it out? Use a Mason Jar or another type of jar instead. With the variety of things out there, there’s almost no end to where you can store your crystals. and use a thank you sticker or write it on with a permanent marker.

How to decide which crystals need a rest? I rotate the crystals that are in the pot when my intuition tells me it’s time. I often include the pot on my altar for a period of time, as well.

Why do I do this practice?
First, it gives the crystals a period of rest which is important to them and to me. Just like I don’t want to “go-go-go” all the time, neither do crystals. As the saying goes, we all need a break.
Second, it allows them to recharge. Third, it is a way for me to give my crystals some “special treatment”. Finally, it allows me to give them the thanks for all they’ve done for me.
Along with the crystals I’m thanking, I usually include some type of flower in this ritual, too. (In today’s case, white rose petals were my choice.) Why do I do this? Because I like to show my crystals extra love so they know how much I love and care about them.
To me, working with crystals is similar to any other type of relationship – meaning I need to give and receive.
Although roses are the most common form of dried flower I include with my crystals, I occasionally use dried lavender or other herbs. from time to time, making sure they are safe for the crystals first.
Most crystals are cleansed with sage before I put them into the pot. Then, they enjoy the sounds of singing bowls daily while they enjoy their time here.
