Happiness doesn’t have to mean a lavish vacation or an expensive evening.
In fact, there are many easy, free things anyone can do. Here are a few:
- Say ‘Cheese’! Research shows smiling releases stress, and affects our brains the same way exercise does. It also makes you more attractive. Try it first thing in the morning to kick off your day.
- Have fun! Laughter really is the best medicine. It helps us relax and recharge. It also lowers stress, anxiety and fear. To add more laughter into your life, watch a funny movie, play a game, hang out with children or go to a comedy club.
- Say thanks! It’s great to be grateful! Numerous studies show just a little bit of gratitude goes a long way. In fact, writing down 5 items of gratitude just once a week has been shown to increase happiness by 10-25%.
